Steel Material
Metal recycling
Our metal recycling focuses on iron and steel, copper, and aluminum as essential resources for the circular economy.
Iron and steel are indispensable resources for a society pursuing the SDGs and carbon neutrality, due to their high recycling rate and steel stockpiles (e.g., Japan holds 1.4 billion tons of steel, of which 2-3% is collected or sorted for recycling). In other words, smartly circulating iron and steel is the key to protecting the future global environment.
Copper scrap is another important material that underpins our daily lives and industrial development, and is recycled into copper components such as copper strips, tubes, wires, and plates.
Aluminum is also an earth-friendly material with a high recycling rate (rate of can to can is 99.8% in Japan) and is therefore indispensable to a sustainable society.
Centered around metal recycling, we are engaged in global environmental operations, including collecting iron/steel and other non-ferrows scrap generated within and outside the Marubeni Group, as well as from our global partners and customers; furthermore importing aluminum scrap generated during can production from can manufacturers; With the circular economy in mind, we are developing environmental businesses on a global scale.
